Design of Alignment System to Ensure Consistent Sample Direction Between Experiments Using Laser Tick Mark

Project Description

Many laboratory tests when it comes to core analysis are delicate to sample direction. This concept is also known as anisotropy. Anisotropy in oil & gas industry means that some or all properties of a core sample are dependent upon location and/or direction. Hence, the need of a systematic wat to account for direction variation is essential in order to have accurate and consistent evaluation. This projects aims to utilize laser-based system to impose a reference mark on core samples, and these marks are analyzed to compare original reference in between experiments to ensure proper handling.
