Secure Blockchain-Based Student Voting and Election Platform (VeriVote)
Project Type: Self-Initiated
Project Description
Student elections at KFUPM often rely on paper ballots or basic online forms. These approaches often produce slow result processing, manual errors, limited transparency, and weak verification, and generic form tools lack protection against tampering, duplicate voting, and unauthorized manipulation. VeriVote addresses these gaps through a secure, blockchain-based electronic voting platform deployed inside KFUPM’s controlled campus environment. The platform verifies voter eligibility, secures ballot submission, and records votes on an immutable ledger to support transparent auditing and strengthen trust in election outcomes. Deployment inside the university intranet supports centralized management of network access, infrastructure, and user identities, aligning governance and security requirements with campus operations. The implementation follows a containerized microservice architecture with measurable targets for authorization latency, sustained throughput under high concurrent voting, and fault recovery.
