Autonomous Drone System for Geophone Deployment in Difficult Terrains

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

Geophone deployment in seismic surveys is traditionally performed manually, resulting in slow, labor-intensive, and inconsistent operations, especially in harsh and large-scale environments. This project presents an autonomous drone-based system designed to deploy geophones at predefined GPS locations with improved speed, accuracy, and consistency. The system integrates stable flight control, payload handling, and a precise release mechanism to ensure reliable operation. Performance was validated through calculations, simulations, and controlled testing, demonstrating compliance with key requirements such as positioning accuracy, deployment time, and system stability. This approach offers a safer and more efficient alternative for seismic data acquisition in challenging terrains.
