AI-Enabled Pre-Fitting Wearable Device with Multimodal Imaging and Nerve-Sensing for Predictive Prosthetic Socket Design and Enhanced User Comfort
Project Type: Self-Initiated
Project Description
This project presents an integrated bio-smart-physical platform that automates and validates the creation of custom prosthetic sockets. The system is structured into three functional segments: a Physical Segment that uses a thermal camera and motorized scanning rig to capture limb data; a Cloud Segment powered by AWS that hosts an AI agentic system (using a Visual Large Language Model within a RAG framework) to generate 3D socket designs in STL format; and a Dashboard Segment where a prosthetist reviews, modifies, and approves the AI-generated design through a human-in-the-loop workflow. The result is a safe, objective, and data-driven approach to prosthetic socket fitting.
