Hydrogen-Powered UAV Using a PEM Fuel Cell System

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

The project focuses on developing a hydrogen-powered UAV system using a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) as an alternative power source to conventional batteries. The PEM fuel cell converts hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy, producing only water and heat as by-products. This makes the system a cleaner and more sustainable solution for drone applications. The project aims to improve UAV endurance, reduce emissions, and demonstrate the feasibility of integrating a hydrogen fuel system into an aircraft platform while considering key constraints such as weight, power requirement, cost, safety, and system integration.
