Integrated Waste-to-Electricity System for Sustainable Waste

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

Municipal solid waste in Saudi Arabia is currently outpacing landfill capacity. This project designs an integrated plant that converts waste into clean electricity using a controlled thermal-to-electrical conversion chain. The system features a custom-machined 97.5mm aluminum steam turbine and a localized machine learning dashboard that delivers a 91.11% forecasting accuracy with sub-millisecond safety response times. By achieving an estimated levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of 0.88 SAR/kWh, the design offers a scalable energy resource aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
