Smart Platform for Real-Time Construction Logistics and Resource Optimization

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

This project involves the design and development of a smart web-based platform for optimizing construction logistics and resource management, aiming to overcome the limitations of traditional static planning methods by providing a dynamic, data-driven solution that enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and improves decision-making. The platform integrates real-time tracking, scheduling, and optimization within a unified system, enabling better coordination of materials, labor, and equipment while adapting to changing site conditions. It incorporates a scenario-based optimization approach to handle uncertainties such as variations in productivity, material lead times, and resource availability, and is designed with practical constraints including safety regulations, site conditions, data availability, and computational feasibility to ensure real-world applicability. The project adopts a multidisciplinary approach by combining Civil Engineering for construction workflows and safety, Industrial and Systems Engineering for optimization and performance evaluation, and Computer Science for system development and integration, resulting in a scalable and intelligent solution that supports efficient, compliant, and data-driven construction logistics management.
