Smart Desert Agriculture & Water Security System (SDAWS)

The Best Project - AI Selection Award

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

SDAWS is a data-driven irrigation solution designed to improve water-use efficiency in arid agricultural environments. The system addresses key challenges of conventional irrigation — including low efficiency, limited real-time visibility, and increasing pressure on water and energy resources — by integrating soil and environmental sensing, analytical decision-making, and automated irrigation control within a unified architecture. Rather than relying on fixed schedules, SDAWS processes collected field data to support adaptive irrigation decisions that respond to changing conditions. The system emphasizes real-time responsiveness, energy-aware operation, and scalability across different farm sizes, with the long-term goal of supporting sustainable water management in desert agriculture.
