Term 252

CO2 resistance geopolymer cement for oil & gas wells application

Project Type: Self-Initiated

Project Description

This project develops a CO2-resistant geopolymer cement using waste-derived materials as a sustainable alternative to conventional oil-well cement. The system is designed to achieve required mechanical strength, pumpability, and durability under CO2-rich conditions through optimized formulation and controlled testing. A laboratory-scale prototype with a pressurized CO2 exposure system is implemented to simulate downhole conditions and evaluate performance using real-time monitoring and statistical process control.
