SAUDI ARABIA FIFA World Cup 2034 Integrated AI- and IoT-Based Crowd Management System
Project Type: Self-Initiated
Project Description
The FIFA World Cup 2034 is expected to host over 3.4 million fans, creating high-density entry conditions that may cause congestion, long queues, and safety risks. This project aims to reduce congestion, shorten waiting times, and enhance crowd safety by improving crowd flow efficiency at stadium entry points. This project proposes an integrated AI- and IoT-based crowd management system to monitor, predict, and control crowd flow in real time. The system fuses camera-based sensing, ticket scanning, and GPS data to estimate crowd density and queue status. A predictive AI model forecasts congestion ahead of time, while a digital twin simulation supports optimized routing and operational decision-making. Smart physical gates dynamically regulate lane capacity and provide safe emergency responses, supported by a mobile application and an admin dashboard for live monitoring and control. Future work will focus on prototyping, system integration, and validating performance across normal, peak, and emergency scenarios while ensuring secure data handling through encryption and anonymization
