Galvanic Corrosion Control in Open-Loop Seawater Cooling Systems Using Sacrificial Anodes
Project Type: Self-Initiated
Project Description
This project aims to control galvanic corrosion in open-loop seawater cooling systems using sacrificial anodes. A cost-effective system was designed to protect carbon steel components by using zinc as a sacrificial material. The design was validated through experimental testing, showing significant corrosion reduction and improved system durability. The project provides a practical and reliable solution to extend equipment life and reduce maintenance costs.
